The NBA selects its top 75 players of all time
To celebrate its 75th anniversary the NBA has updated its top 50 player listing published back n 1996 with 25 more additions.
It's the 75th anniversary of the NBA this year with a series of high profile events scheduled to celebrate the landmark. The association has also updated its previously published in 1996 top 50 players of all time listing to add a further 25 stars of the court.
Whilst many basketball fans may be disappointed that the recently retired Pau Gasol failed to make the final list despite being widely tipped to do so by many basketball journalists. Two European stars that do feature are Germany's Dirk Nowitzki and Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo.
The compilation of the list was put together based on a selection process made by current and former players, coaches, front office staff, WNBA stars and journalists and sees current stars of the game included such as LeBron, Curry, Kawhi and Blazers' Lillard along with the classics such as Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kareem, Russell, Chamberlain, Duncan, Kobe, Shaquille...), pioneers of the sport (Mikan, Petit, Cousy...) and 21st century stars such as Wade, Nash, Durant, Antetokounmpo.
