Luka leads the huddle
In the middle of the Mavericks and Heat game, Luka Doncic is seen leading the huddle. Despite losing, Doncic set a scoring record, surpassing Jason Kidd.
Luka Doncic does it all. At only 22 years old, the star basketball player is setting records and leading the team.
The Mavericks took on the Miami Heat on Tuesday, and suffered their first home loss of the season, 125-110. It was a back-and-forth shootout, but the Heat outdid the Mavs in the end. However, Luka Doncic still impressed in many ways.
Doncic surpasses Jason Kidd as 14th overall scorer
Doncic needed just nine points to surpass Jason Kidd's (former Dallas Mavericks player and now current head coach) record of 5,258 points to become the 14th all-time leading scorer in the Mavericks' team history. It didn't take him long. He surpassed the record in just the second quarter. The all-time leading scorer is still the great Dirk Nowitzki with 31,560 points. By the end of the game, Luka had 33 points, five rebounds, and three assists.
His playing abilities are impressive enough, but Doncic is also a natural leader. In the middle of the game, he's seen leading the huddle. He may be young, but he's experienced, talented, and smart. The team respects him and he's clearly an asset in a variety of ways.
