Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has reportedly tested positive for coronavirus.

Due to his diagnosis, Rodgers will not be able to participate in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs. “I mean they’re not going to postpone or cancel the game. We have a game to play,” said a Green Bay Packers source.

After much controversy when Jordan Love was drafted, it is the back-up QB who will have the opportunity to prove himself to the Packers, and the world, until Rodgers returns.

Is Aaron Rodgers vaccinated?

Head coach Matt LaFleur would not confirm or deny whether or not he has been vaccinated for Covid-19. However, the NFL has considered Rodgers unvaccinated since the beginning of the 2021 season. Media outlets have reached out to Rodgers regarding his vaccine status, but no response has been provided.

Early on in the season, Aaron Rodgers requested and was denied an exception to the NDL-NFLPA Covid-19 protocols due to his antibodies. This resulted in Aaron Rodgers being deemed unvaccinated by the NFL.

Rodgers has been very vague when asked about his vaccine status by reporters. When asked if he has been vaccinated, Rodgers said he is “immunized.”

Rodgers added, "Owners have made statements. There's guys on the team that haven't been vaccinated. I think it's a personal decision. I'm not going to judge those guys. There's guys that have been vaccinated and contracted Covid. So it's an interesting issue."

LaFleur was asked whether Rodgers' response was ‘misleading’ and the coach said “that’s a great question for Aaron. I’m not going to comment on it.”

The NFL said from the beginning of the 2021 season that they will not accommodate in the case that there is a covid-19 outbreak among unvaccinated players on a NFL team. Teams that face this problem were told they would have to forfeit.

When can Aaron Rodgers return to the field?

Aaron Rodgers will not be eligible to return to play until November 13th, 2021. The Packers will play the Seahawks on November 14th, 2021 in Green Bay.

Some NFL players, such as Perryman on the Panthers have been open about refusing the vaccine. Perryman said, “Zero vaccination, period. Nothing against it. I know people who got the vaccination and still got Covid-19. To me, what’s the point?”
