Saint-Étienne vs PSG: times, TV and how to watch online
All the info you need on how and where to watch the Ligue 1 match between Saint-Étienne and PSG at the Geoffroy Stadium on Sunday 28 November.
PSG take an 11-point Ligue 1 lead over nearest rivals Nice to the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard on Sunday where Mauricio Pochettino’s side face a resurgent Saint-Étienne, who have lost only once in their last five but remain firmly in the relegation mix despite an uptick in fortunes. Still, PSG have dropped only five points domestically this season and haven’t been beaten in Saint-Étienne since 2008, so few will be banking on the leaders slipping up in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes on Sunday.
Pochettino to ring the changes for Nice
What remains to be seen is what Pochettino decides to do about the looming meeting with Nice, who are next up for the Parisians on Wednesday. The Argentinean is likely to make some changes and could rest Presnel Kimpembe in Saint-Étienne, opening the door for Sergio Ramos to potentially make his long-awaited PSG debut after the former Real Madrid captain was named on the bench for the 2-1 Champions League defeat at Manchester City in midweek. Leo Messi may also be rested with Nice in mind while Pochettino will have to contend without the injured Rafinha, Julian Draxler, Marco Verratti, Georginio Wijnaldum, Mauro Icardi and Ander Herrera. Gianluigi Donnarumma is guaranteed a start in goal following Keylor Navas’ red card during the 3-1 victory over Nantes.
Claude Puel is missing Gabriel Silva, Yvan Neyou, Harold Moukoudi, Saidou Sow and Romain Hamouma for the visit of PSG, a side Saint-Étienne last got the better of in Ligue 1 back in 2012 at the Parc des Princes. Since then, PSG are undefeated in 24 games against Sunday’s opposition.
“I like to think it's up to us and not just our opponents. On paper we could think that the two sides are completely different, but I want to see my team play its game. We'll see what PSG put together as a team. Every weekend they have to work hard. But in the end, the result is often the same,” noted Puel ahead of the game.
