How will the draw work?

The 55 countries in the Nations League will be split into four leagues - A, B, C and D - according to their ranking in UEFA’s 2022/23 Access List. In turn, each league will be divided into four groups of four (except for League D, which will be two groups: one of four and one of three).

In Leagues A, B and C, teams will be placed into four pots of four for Thursday’s draw, while League D’s nations will be separated into two pots, one of four and one of three. The composition of the pots will be based on countries’ results in the 2020/21 Nations League.

In the top three leagues, one team each from Pots 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be drawn into every group. In League D, two teams each from Pot 1 and Pot 2 will be placed in Group D1, and two Pot 1 teams will be joined by one Pot 2 team in Group D2.
