Roberto ‘Piojo’ Alvarado close to joining Chivas

The Guadalajara-based team is working a deal with Cruz Azul to swap Uriel Antuna for Roberto Alvarado for the next tournament in the Liga MX.

Roberto ‘Piojo’ Alvarado close to joining Chivas

Chivas had a disappointing season and lost to Club Puebla during the playoffs last tournament and saw another disappointing season come to an end. Now they have started their pre-season ahead of the start of the 2022 Liga MX Clausura and the people in charge at Guadalajara want to bring some new players.

Roberto Alvarado could join Chivas

The Guadalajara-based team wants to bring in Roberto ‘Piojo’ Alvarado for the next campaign, but they need to release some players first. So Chivas is willing to offer Uriel Antuna in order to bring the Mexican international on a permanent deal.

But this could be a bad trade for Guadalajara because with the calendar year coming to an end, Antuna’s numbers were superior to Alvarado’s. The player from Chivas made three successful dribbles and two key crosses per match in the two tournaments of 2021.

Antuna is more of a playmaker than Alvarado, but when it comes to goals the Cruz Azul winger stands out. The 23-year-old scored four goals and provided one assist in 14 appearances with ‘La Maquina’ last tournament. This is why Chivas want to sign him, because they need goals and they believe Alvarado is the solution.
