Jonathan dos Santos on the verge of joining Club América
The former Los Angeles Galaxy captain has traveled to Mexico to review the offer from Club América ahead of the 2022 Liga MX Clausura tournament.
Jonathan dos Santos and the Los Angeles Galaxy parted ways at the end of the 2021 Major League Soccer season with the club not making it to the playoffs. As a free agent the Mexican international got approached by Houston Dynamo, but no deal was reached and the negotiation fell apart.
Could join Club América
Dos Santos shared on his social media that he was packing and leaving his house in Los Angeles and traveling to what is speculated to be Mexico. Then he posted a picture with a caption that read ‘guess where.’
According to a report from TUDN, Jonathan dos Santos is on the verge of joining Club América ahead of the 2022 Liga MX Clausura tournament. Both parts are about to conclude the negotiations to make the official announcement and become the second signing for the next campaign.
The Mexican international became the 30th player in the history of the Los Angeles Galaxy to make 100 regular season appearances in MLS. He joined the team with the most titles in the league (5) in 2017 and scored six goals and provided 12 assists.
