Who plays Thursday Night football tonight, Week 16? Games, times, TV
This Christmas edition of Thursday Night Football brings the San Francisco 49ers to Nashville to play the AFC South Division leading Tennessee Titans
West coast streaking (8-6) San Francisco 49ers come east to Nashville to try their luck against the the AFC South Division leading (9-5) Tennessee Titans tonight.
San Francisco comes into this one the hotter team, winning their second straight and the fifth of the last six games last week in Atlanta. Tennessee, on the other hand, has dropped three of four and have struggled as they blew a second half lead in Pittsburgh. They have led the AFC South comfortably all season, but have really struggled to replace Derrick Henry’s offensive output.
With both teams putting up impressive rushing stats and neither quarterback setting the world on fire, the key to the game is likely to be the defense. Tennessee has been terrible on turning the ball over and Ryan Tannehill leads the league with 14 interceptions. Nick Bosa and the niners D might just be the key to victory.
For the Titans, the key to the game is likely to be getting pressure to Jimmy Garoppolo. He is a solid pocket passer, but when he scrambles his productivity falls off a cliff edge. Let him stand in the pocket and throw and he will take you apart. But get him outside the numbers and he is effectively neutralized.
Kickoff is on Thursday at 8:20 p.m. ET from Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee. You can watch the game live on the NFL Network or stream on fuboTV (Try for free. Regional restrictions may apply.)
