Several top-tier clubs in Europe are ready to make a bid for the United States men’s international team player who has lost his status at Barcelona.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich eager to sign Sergiño Dest in January

The winter transfer window is a week away from opening and FC Barcelona is ready to analyze the offers they have on the table for Sergiño Dest. The United States international became a key player when Ronald Koeman was the manager, but since Xavi took over the job last month he has been relegated to the bench.

Clubs keeping tabs on Dest

At Barcelona they have high hopes that Dani Alves will be a better fit to take the right-back position and with Sergi Roberto serving as a second option. The people in charge at Barcelona are aware that they could receive a good sum of money for the 21-year-old and Xavi has given them the green light to sell him if the offer is good for everyone.

The latest report indicates Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the two teams that have shown the most interest in signing Dest next month. The Premier League side have Takehiro Tomiyasu at right-back, but they believe the USMNT player is more offensive and could provide more depth in attack.

On the other hand, the Bundesliga giants need a player at right-back because they have been struggling in that position this campaign. Benjamin Pavard, who is a regular starter, has been dealing with an ankle injury for a while now and Bouna Sarr has been seeing the most minutes due to that reason. So Dest could have a chance to eventually earn a starting role in both teams with the lack of minutes he’s been seeing at the Camp Nou.
