Which players are out for the Dolphins vs. Saints game?
The Miami Dolphins head to Caesar’s Superdome to face the New Orleans Saints, and both teams will be shorthanded with many players on the reserve/covid-19 list.
The Miami Dolphins will face New Orleans for Week 16’s Monday Night Football at Caesars Superdome, but both squads will find themselves shorthanded as they struggle to join the teams that have already clinched spots at the playoffs.
Neither of the two squads have long injury tallies, but the reserve-covid-19 list is what is likely to have the biggest impact on Monday’s game, with many players having their names added on to it.
Other NFL stories:
No injuries for Miami
Miami no longer has names on its injury report. Tackle Jesse Davis, safety Brandon Jones, cornerback Trill Williams, tight end Adam Shaheen, running back Philip Lindsay, and defensive tackle Zach Sieler were previously listed on the practice reports but have been removed since. This indicates they will all be ready to suit up for the game.
Dolphins wide receiver Albert Wilson and reserve offensive lineman Solomon Kindley were placed on the reserve/covid-19 list on Sunday, making them likely to miss their road game.
Wilson and Kindley join six others who were already on the reserve/covid-19 list- offensive linemen Robert Jones and Greg Mancz, cornerback Justin Coleman, linebacker Duke Riley, tight end Cethan Carter, and wide receiver Lynn Bowden, who has also been placed on injured reserve and declared out for the season.
Depleted Saints
The Saints do not have a lot of injured players, though they did have three players on the injury report after their practice session on Saturday. Tackle Terron Armstead has knee problems, wide receiver Tre-Quan Smith is nursing a shoulder injury, while defensive end Marcus Davenport has shoulder and knee issues. All three players have been listed as questionable for Monday's game.
The bigger headache for New Orleans is their long list of athletes on reserve/covid-19. Receiver-returner Deonte Harris was added on Sunday, as well as practice squad offensive lineman Jerald Hawkins, practice squad defensive tackle Malcolm Roach, and practice squad defensive back KeiVarae Russell.
With this latest addition, the number of Saints players on the covid-19 list has risen to 20.
The Dolphins (7-7) and the Saints (7-7) will face off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA on Monday Night Football. Kickoff is at 8:15 ET / 5:15 p.m. PT.
