Novak Djokovic already holds the record for the number of tennis Grand Slams won by any male player in history with 24. His victory at the 2023 US Open over Daniil Medvedev put him further ahead Rafa Nadal, who has 22 Grand Slam titles in second place. A potential 25th is within reach Down Under.

The 36-year-old came out on top in New York last year. He has won 10 times in Australia and eight times at Wimbledon. Djokovic’s previous US Open triumph had come in 2018. In 2021 he lost to Medvedev, but managed to get revenge in 2023.

What records does Djokovic hold?

Away from Grand Slams, the Serb also holds a huge number of other records, including the most weeks ranked number one in (male) singles tennis, most ATP Masters 1000 singles titles won both in his career and in a single season, as well as most ATP Finals wins.

Djokovic’s career earnings

On-court success inevitably leads to a healthy bank balance - to put in mildly - and no player, male or female, has ever earned more money than Djokovic in their career or in a season. According to the ATP Tour, the current world number 1 has earned over $180 million in his career to date.

When his off-court earnings of an estimated $340 million are taken into account, the tennis champ has made over $520 million, with an estimated net worth of around $240 million.

No wonder we rarely hear him speaking of retirement…
