Canelo amused after Jake Paul dangles $200 million carrot for fight
The Mexican boxer responded via his social media to the new challenge launched by Jake Paul, who is willing to offer a significant sum to fight.

Jake Paul just won’t let go of the idea of fighting Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez. For the YouTuber‑turned‑boxer, the Mexican superstar has become the dream target — the one matchup he believes would catapult him into boxing’s biggest spotlight.
And now Paul claims he’s ready to put an eye‑popping $200 million on the table to make it happen.
During a recent livestream, Paul said: “Canelo, I’ve got $200 million for you — easy money. Let’s do it. Jake Paul vs. Canelo. This is what fans have been waiting for. This is the biggest fight boxing can make.”
The timing of the challenge raised eyebrows. Just days earlier, Paul had publicly questioned whether he’d even continue boxing after suffering a broken jaw in his fight against Anthony Joshua. But the moment he healed enough to talk, he was back to calling out Canelo.

Canelo responds — and he’s not taking it seriously
Once Paul’s challenge went viral, it didn’t take long to reach Canelo. And the Mexican champion’s reaction was… less than enthusiastic.
On Instagram Stories, Canelo replied with a string of laughing emojis — a clear sign he sees Paul’s proposal as more comedy than competition.
For now, a Canelo‑Paul fight looks extremely unlikely. Canelo is already preparing for his next bout, expected in September, and has shown zero interest in entertaining Paul’s offer.

Still, don’t expect Jake Paul to drop it
Despite the long odds, Paul is almost certain to keep pushing. The matchup may be unrealistic from a sporting standpoint, but it undeniably draws attention — and Paul knows how to capitalize on that.
A segment of fans would tune in instantly, and Paul is betting that hype alone could eventually force the boxing world’s hand.
