Patrick Mahomes vs Josh Allen: numbers compared

It's time for the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs to get down to business, looking for a place in the AFC Championship Game. Which QB will shine?

Patrick Mahomes vs Josh Allen: head-to-head

Sunday night seen the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs battle it out for a place in the AFC Championship Game. It's a rematch of the 2020 AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead Stadium, which went the way of the Chiefs. That said, it was Buffalo who took the most recent clash by a score of 38-20, but that was the regular season...this is the playoffs!

Mahomes vs Allen: how the quarterbacks compare

Clearly eyes are going to be on the Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen and his Kansas counterpart, Patrick Mahomes.

Allen, 25, and Mahomes, 26, are, despite very much starring in the present, considered the quarterbacks of the future in the NFL, and the numbers back them up. However, some of our readers have been asking who is having the best of this season as they head into this Divisional Round game. Let's have a look.

Mahomes vs Allen: by numbers

Josh Allen14,114103462,325319139-21

Despite the bad start the Chiefs quarterback had, he ended up outperforming Allen in the most important departments and even the Bills youngster threw more interceptions at the end of the season, much thanks to the three he suffered against Atlanta.

But even though Mahomes has better numbers than Allen in almost every department, the Bills have a slight advantage heading into Sunday's match-up, and that's that they have the best defence in terms of points, as well as the best in yards through the air.

Also in NFL news:

Allen is also coming off the back of his best ever numbers game, against the Patriots, where he threw for 308 passing yards and five touchdowns without any turnovers. Seven straight touchdown drives kept the Patriots down. In Mahomes' last outing, he showed the Pittsburgh Steelers what he was all about with five touchdowns, throwing for a total of 400 yards.

Both quarterbacks are playing at a high level this weekend and are early in their careers. This should be a great show in Kansas City, Missouri.
