San Francisco 49ers vs LA Rams: schedule, TV channel and where to watch live the NFC Conference finals
The 49ers and the Rams will contest the NFC Championship final at SoFi stadium, Inglewood on 30 January 2022. Here’s how you can follow the action live.
After a thrilling weekend of action and drama during which four teams emerged from the divisional round playoffs and advance to the Championship finals. Both games will be played on Sunday 30 January 2022. First up is the AFC Championship final between the Bengals and the Chiefs. That will be followed by the NFC matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the LA Rams – the latest installment in a historied and occasionally tense rivalry between the teams from north and south California. The Niners have the edge, having won all of the most recent meetings this century.
Route to the final
The San Fran special teams made their way to the final after seeing off the top seeded Green Bay Packers. Robbie Gould put the seal on a night to remember with field goal from 45 yards out as it ended 13-10 at Lambeau Field.
In terms of drama, it paled in comparison to Sunday’s nerve-shredding matchup between the Rams and the Bucs. The defending champions somehow bounced back after going 24 points down but were dumped out when Matt Guy converted a field goal with the seconds ticking down on one of the most riveting contests in recent memory.
It’s just over 40 years since the Niners lifted their first of five Super Bowls – four of them during their golden period in the 1980s. The Rams have appeared four times at the Super Bowl, their only win coming in January 2000 when they defeated the Titans 23-16 at SuperBowl XXXIV.
The winners from both Championship games will advance to Super Bowl 56 on Sunday 13 February.
