NBA All Star 2022: who are the starters in each conference?

The starters for NBA’s 2022 All-Star Game have been named, with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets once again serving as team captains.

This is the 18th time James has made it to an All-Star team, putting him at a tie with Kobe Bryant for all-time second place, just one game behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s count of 19.

Injured Durant

It is Durant’s 12th time to be chosen for the exhibition game. However, he is not expected to be able to play in the All-Star due to an injury. He missed the game last year for the same reason.

The 14 reserves will be announced on Feb. 3. The two captains will then draft their teams first from the starters, then the reserves, live on TNT on Feb. 10.

All-Star starting lineups

King James is joined in the Western Conference starting lineup by Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Ja Morant of the Memphis Grizzlies, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets, and Andrew Wiggins of the Warriors.

Joining KD on the list of East team starters are DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls, Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Joel Embiid of the Philadelphia 76ers.

Two first-timers

While most of the starters named have had All-Star experience, Moran and Wiggins are both first-timers in the annual mid-season event.

The starters were determined by a vote divided among fans who got 50 percent, while players and members of the media split the other 50 percent.

The NBA All-Star Game will be played in Cleveland on Feb. 20.
