The life and death of Kobe Bryant

Two years ago on this day Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other people perished in a helicopter crash which occurred in the hills of Calabasas, California. The world was shocked. A larger than life presence, Bryant's death reverberated around the world as out pourings of grief came from far and wide. There were inhabitants of Kobe, Japan who had been touched by the man himself, former teammates and coaches from his time in Italy and of course the many fans and players alike who had the privilege of witnessing his brilliance in the NBA. Perhaps though, the ones who were most touched by Kobe's approach to life were the countless young people who he helped through his Mamba Foundation to finding sporting and educational excellence.

A documentary to celebrate Kobe Bryant

Initially aired in 2021 on ABC, a documentary entitled 'Superstar: Kobe Bryant' was produced in honor of the late league icon. During the hour long show, there are numerous interviews with teammates and opponents alike as well as pundits who covered him during his career and even pop culture icons like Whitney Houston and Robin Williams. In addition there are also old interviews with Bryant himself, allowing Kobe to tell his own story in his typically sincere way. Mamba fans can expect a look into not just Kobe Bryant the NBA champion, but Kobe the husband, father and fierce supporter of the potential that the next generation holds.
