Adama Traoré lands in Barcelona ahead of completing move to LaLiga giants

Adama Traoré has landed in Barcelona to undergo a medical ahead of joining the Catalan outfit on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Wolves player was on holiday in Dubai and a late talks between Barcelona and the Premier League side have resulted in the player ending his trip prematurely to arrive at a club he knows quite well. He landed in Barcelona with his family at 13:30 local time and went directly to undergo his medical.

Tottenham miss out

Tottenham were also interested in signing the rapid winger, but he decided to return to Barça, the club he left in 2015 to join Aston Villa in a deal worth €10 million. The 6-month loan deal includes an option to buy for approximately €30 million. Signing the 26-year-old perhaps indicates to Ousmane Dembélé that if he does not leave the club in the next couple of days, he will not play under Xavi again.

Barcelona return

The player from l'Hospitalet came through the youth ranks at Barcelona, making his debut with the first team at the age of 17 in a 4-0 LaLiga win against Granada at Camp Nou, under the guidance of then head coach Tata Martino.

From Aston Villa he went to Middlesbrough who paid €8.25 million for him. His performances with the Championship side caught Wolves' attention, who then paid €20 million to secure his services in 2018, making him the most expensive signing in the club's history. Last season he made his debut with the Spanish national team under Luis Enrique, who called him up for the European Championship.
