DeAndre Yedlin returns to MLS to play with Inter Miami

After weeks of negotiations Inter Miami CF confirmed the signing of DeAndre Yedlin after he terminated his contract with Turkey’s Galatasaray on 26 January. The United States men’s national team player will arrive to MLS with the league’s No 1 allocation ranking and he will sign a four-year contract with the team owned by David Beckham.

He is a very talented, exciting, and dynamic player on the pitch and an experienced winner who is also a positive character in the locker room that will help us improve our roster,” Miami chief soccer officer Chris Henderson said in a statement. “He’s a well-rounded right back who likes to get up and down the pitch.”

The 28-year-old right back is currently with the USMNT in St. Paul, Minnesota, for the World Cup qualifier against Honduras in extreme weather conditions and he is expected to report to Inter Miami on Thursday. Yedlin was born in Seattle and he started his professional career playing for the Sounders between 2013 to 2014.

Since then he made the switch to Europe and he has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Sunderland, Newcastle and Galatasaray. He never found the minutes he wanted at any of the European clubs, but he arrives with a lot of experience to a young team that needs leaders.
