NBA All-Star Weekend live: Skills Challenge, Dunk Contest and 3-point Contest

The NBA All-Star weekend is a treat for basketball fans, as there are many events to look forward to. All-Star Saturday Night has proven to be a big hit among viewers, because of spectacular basketball feats that have become iconic moments in NBA history.

There are three events that are held on this evening- the first one being the Skills Challenge, the second being the 3-Point Contest, and finally, the Slam Dunk competition.

More on the NBA All-Star weekend:

Contest format

Three teams will be contending for the Skills Challenge trophy, going through four rounds that will test their flair in the most important abilities on the court - shooting, passing, and dribbling.

The second event will test the accuracy of the best distance shooters in the league. Eight players will go through two rounds that will be timed.

There will be a special zone located six feet behind the 3-point line that will have one green ball, called the “3-ball”. Anyone who sinks this special ball will get three points.

Finally, the flashiest of all the events - the Slam Dunk contest. Four players will get two dunks in the first round, with judges giving a score from six to 10.

The two competitors with the highest combined score will proceed to the second and final round where they will get another two dunks. The player with the highest combined score will be declared the champion.
