Pulisic scores first ever Champions League goal at Stamford Bridge
The United States men’s national team ace scored in Chelsea’s victory against Lille OSC in the first leg of the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League.
Christian Pulisic made his second start in the UEFA Champions League for Chelsea this season in the first leg of the round of 16 against Lille OSC. The United States international found the back of the net in the 63rd minute of the match after a great run from N’golo Kanté to secure the victory for the Premier League side in his fourth appearance of the campaign.
First UCL goal at Stamford Bridge
This was Pulisic’s first ever Champions League goal at Stamford Bridge and the first one since scoring against Real Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium in the first leg of the semi-final last season.
Pulisic has been in top form for club and country since recovering from a lengthy ankle injury last year. The United States international has made 22 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea this season, scored four goals and has provided three assists.
Chelsea will have to turn the page quickly because they have another big game on Sunday against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. This could be another opportunity for Pulisic to keep winning silverware and make more history for the United States men’s national team.
