Donald Trump jokes about bombing Russia with China-flagged planes

The former US President, who recent called Vladimir Putin 'genius' and 'savvy' regarding his invasion of Ukraine has verbalised a strange war solution.

According to reports in The Washington Post, former President Donald Trump jokingly shared some comments about the Russia-Ukraine conflict at an event with top donors of the Republican National Committee at a retreat in New Orleans on Saturday.

Trump says give China the blame for Russia bombing

Based on a recording of the speech obtained, Trump said the US should "put the Chinese flag" on F-22 fighter jets and “bomb the shit out of Russia.” The former president, then said that the US should focus blame on China for the offensive and then watch the two countries engage in a conflict.

More on Russia-Ukraine conflict:

“And then we say, China did it, we didn’t do it, China did it,” he was quoted as stating, in his usual repetitive style. “And then they start fighting with each other and we sit back and watch.” His comments drew laughter from his crowd of donors. It's not like Trump has poor form on giving advice on life-and-death matters.

“I knew Putin very well,” Trump continued, considering how the Russia-Ukraine situation would have turned out if he had still been in the White House. “He would not have done it. He would have never done it.”

Unsurprisingly, Trump did not add that while he was US president he held up military aid for Ukraine, instead pushing for investigations into the son of his then presidential opponent Joe Biden. Instead, the man under investigation for various crimes himself turned his attention to praising North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un.

“His people were sitting at attention,” he proclaimed, “I looked at my people and said I want my people to act like that.” It would appear that a dictatorship with aides cowering and him having “total control” is exactly how Trump dreams of running the US if he can get back in power. As we’ve seen in Russia and North Korea, it’s certainly one way to getting away with crimes.

Trump criticised for calling Vladimir Putin a "genius"

So, what can we take from these latest Trump statements. Truthfully, not much, it's just yet another bout of irresponsible babbling as he tours the country conning followers out of heaps of cash to fund his legal bills. As per usual, he throws out what he thinks may be popular but can flip in the space of hours depending on how the wind changes, just as he did last week when he called the conflict in Ukraine a "holocaust" and urged Russia to stop the killing. Putin didn't listen.

Remember we were reporting days ago about the backlash following his interview on 'The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show' where he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin's recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk in eastern Ukraine was a "genius" and "pretty smart" move.

“Putin is now saying, ‘It’s independent,’ a large section of Ukraine. I said, ‘How smart is that?’ And he’s going to go in and be a peacekeeper,” Trump said. “That’s the strongest peace force I’ve ever seen. There were more army tanks than I’ve ever seen. They’re going to keep peace, all right. No, but think of it. Here’s a guy who’s very savvy.”

He even suggested a ‘peace force’ like that would be useful for the southern border of the United States. Can you imagine the scenes if Mexico was being treated by the US military as Ukraine is by Russia's?
