The Phoenix Suns out shined the Miami Heat in a battle of to the top teams in each conference and became the first team to clinch a playoff spot this season.

Suns get in done with no CP3

What’s most impressive about the Suns continued dominance is that they have been winning games with just as much ease without their future Hall of Fame point guard Chris Paul who has been out since before the All-Star Break with a right thumb fracture.

Devin Booker stepped up on Wednesday night in the absence of Chris Paul. The Suns sharp shooter dropped 23 points on 7-12 shooting while Deandre Ayton had a double-double with 19 and 10 rebounds.

Will one seed mean a return to the Finals?

The Suns had the top spot last season, and look prime to repeat as the top seed in the West. They eventually lost the title series to the Milwaukee Bucks in six games, but will be eyeing a repeat trip to the finals with a bit of a different result this season.
