Manchester United face Tottenham after suffering a heavy derby day defeat to Manchester City, while Spurs will be hoping to record back to back victories in the Premier League.

Manchester United welcome Tottenham to Old Trafford on Saturday with both sides in need of three points in the race for a top-four place.

United will be hoping to bounce back from their 4-1 derby defeat to neighbours Manchester City last weekend. Spurs travel north after thumping Frank Lampard's Everton 5-0 at home on Monday night, with Harry Kane scoring a brace.

Man United team news

United's French defender Raphael Varane trained with the squad on Wednesday and confirmed that he has recovered in time for the game.

Speaking to manutd.com, Varane said: "Yeah, I’m OK. I’m training normally. I feel better and I’m ready to help the team and to look forward."

Varane missed the defeat to Man City on Sunday, as he tested positive for covid-19 last week, alongside left-back Luke Shaw.

Questions over Ronaldo's fitness

Cristiano Ronaldo has trained on his own this week as he looks to return to full fitness after a hip problem forced him to miss the Manchester derby. The veteran forward flew home to Portugal having picked up the injury ahead of the derby and is still a doubt for Saturday's fixture.

Experienced striker Edinson Cavani could make his first appearance since the 1-1 draw at Burnley in February.

Tottenham team news

Ryan Sessegnon was taken off in the win over Everton and will miss the trip to Old Trafford. Speaking to Tottenham's official website after training on Thursday, Antonio Conte said: "Ryan had a scan, and he has a muscular problem. I think he will need one month to recover. For sure, it’s a pity because at the moment Ryan is giving continuity in his performances and this injury is no good for him, no good for the team.

"We have to stay close to him and to support him to recover very soon. I was a player and I know that when you are injured, it’s a tough time for you because you are not able to do your work, and for this reason you are frustrated."

Oliver Skipp (groin) and Japhet Tanganga (knee) are unavailable for the Londoners.

AS prediction

This is a tough one to call. United will have one eye on Atlético Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, while Conte's Spurs are so unpredictable, losing recently to Middlesbrough in the FA Cup and Burnley in the league.

United beat Tottenham 3-0 at their north London home back in October but I feel that this game is going to be tighter.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Tottenham
