The NFL's GOAT is back, and Bucs’ coach Bruce Arians is just floating with excitement.

Following Tom Brady’s announcement on his return to the NFL for a 23rd season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the media took over to coach Arians to get his first reaction to Brady's decision.

Two words were all Arians needed to respond back to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, “total excitement."

Just last month, Arians noted he was not expecting Brady to reverse his decision on retiring from the NFL.

Brady’s retirement, which happened back in January following the Buccaneers’ loss to the Rams in the NFC divisional playoffs, took only 40 days before the seven-time Super Bowl winner realized his place “is still on the field and not in the stands”.

During that time, coach Arians was asked about Brady’s retirement and whether there would be a possibility of him returning to Tampa. Arians made it clear at the NFL Scouting Combine that the superstar quarterback is welcome back to Tampa Bay if he chose to continue his career.

If Tom wants to come back, we’re open arms, brother. I don’t think it’s going to happen, and we have to prepare for next year,” Arians told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

Brady's back for his 23rd season in the NFL with the Bucs

This will be Brady’s 23rd season in NFL, and third with the Bucs, continuing to live up to the informal title he earned during his golden NFL years, GOAT (greatest of all time)

In his 22 seasons in the NFL, Brady won seven Lombardi trophies, the most championships won by a single player in NFL history, five Super Bowl MVPs, and stacked up career records like most touchdown passes (624) and most passing yards (84,250).

With 10 Super Bowls appearances and 14 conference title games, Brady set NFL records with 32 player-of-the-week and 11 player-of-the-month honors.

During the 2021 season, the Bucs were sacked from the playoffs, following their loss to the Rams in the NFC divisional playoffs, preventing them from winning a consecutive Super Bowl championship.
