The hosts are comfortably leading the LaLiga standings, with 66 points from 28 games, 10 clear of second-placed Sevilla, while Los Blancos currently hold a 15-point advantage over archrivals Barcelona, who are sitting third in the table.
Carlo Ancelotti's men are eyeing a possible double this campaign, as they are in a very comfortable position in the league and into the Champions League quarterfinals, where they will face Chelsea after a remarkable Karim Benzema-inspired comeback against PSG.
Real Madrid haven't lost at home in LaLiga
Despite Barça's recent upturn in performances, it won't be easy for Xavi's squad to secure the three points, as Real Madrid have the best home record in La Liga this season, winning 10 and drawing four of their 14 matches. The hosts haven't been beaten at the Bernabéu since a 2-1 defeat against Levante in January 2021.
The Catalan giants are also on a poor run of results against Madrid, losing the last four Liga Clásicos and the Spanish Super Cup semi-final earlier this season. The reverse fixture resulted in a 2-1 victory for Madrid at Camp Nou earlier this season.
It has now been three years since Barcelona beat Real Madrid in LaLiga (March 2019), but the Xavi's side are a different prospect to the one that lost at Camp Nou back in October under Ronald Koeman.
The visitors have won their last four league matches, including a 4-0 success over Osasuna last weekend and they are on an 11-game unbeaten run across all competitions.
Barcelona to keep their momentum
Barça's fortunes started to change when Xavi replaced Koeman as head coach last November, but it wasn't until the new additions came into play in January that the the Catalans started to click.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is probably the best example of that improvement, with seven goals in 10 games since his arrival from Arsenal on a free transfer.
