The biggest news coming out of the 94th Academy Awards was sadly about one actor hitting another over a joke that was very much unappreciated.

American sports commentator and host Stephen A Smith is one of the millions of voices we have heard reacting to what happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock on stage for the 2022 Oscars on Sunday night. He congratulated the man who went on to win the Best Actor award for his performance in King Richard but did not hold back on calling out his actions as wrong.

Stephen A Smith reacts to Will Smith Oscars slap

"What Will Smith did tonight was straight bullshit. Props and congratulations to him for winning the Oscar because damn it he deserved it. And I love the brother and I’m proud of him but boy was that a shameful act for him to commit tonight.

In related news:

"To go up on stage and slap Chris Rock like that, he’s lucky that he didn’t get his ass kicked, particularly after the event was over. But not by Chris Rock, to the fellows he had there with him. I mean damn! Denzel and Bradley Cooper…and your publicist having to calm you down…

“There’s no excuse for it, ladies and gentlemen, don’t even try to justify it ok," he continued. "Chris Rock said it years ago: ‘Every time black folk doing something, you know who messes it up.’ I never dreamed in my wildest dreams I’d be saying that about Will Smith.”
