Bobby Wagner signs 5-year deal with Rams
Former Seattle Seahawks All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner agrees to terms with the Los Angeles Rams on a five-year deal worth a reported $50 million
The Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams have picked up a gem to strengthen an already-ironclad defense. To a team that already has Aaron Donald and Jalen Ramsey, they add perennial All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner.
After a decade in Seattle, the Seahawks released Wagner to free up cap space and the Rams didn’t need to be told twice. They snapped him up on a five-year $50 million deal that could see him earn up to $65 million with incentives.
The former second round pick in 2012 has made six first team All-Pro selections and had a stellar season last year, one of the few bright spots for a miserable Seahawks side. He finished with a career high 170 tackles and shows no signs of slowing down.
The Rams defense may have lost Von Miller to the Bills but in Wagner they get a superb linebacker who swarms the ball and just vacuums up tackles.
With one Super Bowl win already under his belt, Bobby Wagner is guaranteed to be looking to get a second in southern California.
