Two singing sensations on the same track. It’s not what fans were expecting but the announcement has them excited.
Ariana Grande’s seventh album is set to be released in less than a month, and as the artist previously announced, there won’t be any more singles until then. But on Friday, there was a surprise, one that came in the shape of a Mariah Carey remix.
The superstar features on the pop song ‘yes, and?’ which is the lead track of ‘Eternal Sunshine’ due out on 8 March, and Carey’s accompaniment provides us with a glorious duet.
Grande expressed her excitement on social media.
“I cannot believe the words I am typing,” she began, referring to the Mariah hook-up. “There are truly no words that suffice. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this dream come true and for sprinkling your brilliance and magic on my little song.
“It means more to me than I could ever possibly articulate and I cannot wait for everyone to hear this. I love you eternally!”
You may remember that the pair have previously collaborated, when the Queen of Christmas enlisted both Grande and Jennifer Hudson for a version of her Christmas carol ‘Oh Santa!’ Unlike that one, though, we expect the remix to be a hit.
The single ‘yes, and?’ has dropped to position 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its fourth week, also sits 21st on Spotify Global and is in 68th place on Spotify USA. Check out Ariana’s original music video for the track.
