Josh Homme speaks out on custody battle with ex-wife Brody Dalle

Josh Homme has released a statement on the custody battle between him and ex-wife, and fellow musician Brody Dalle over their three children, Camille aged 17, Orrin aged 11 and Wolf aged 7.

The custody battle began in 2019 when the couple formally divorced after Dalle had accused the Queens of the Stone Age frontman of being physically abusive. The two have since issued multiple restraining orders against each other in the years since they split.

Years of restraining orders

“Out of respect and concern for his minor children and their well-being, Joshua Homme has previously refrained from making public statements about his family to the media,” the statement said, one of the few the musician has released when it comes to the familial matter.

“In light of the continued falsehoods, the repeated invasions of the children’s privacy, and the resulting emotional harm, it is time that the truth be told. Our hope is that this will end the inquiries and speculation and provide the family the privacy and consideration they deserve.”

The statement then went into how Homme and Dalle peacefully co-parented their three children until Dalle violated the custody agreement by barring Homme from seeing his children.

“As a mother, I will always put my children first and protect them at all costs,” said Dalle, defending her decision in an interview with Rolling Stone. She was sentenced to community service after being charged with contempt of court for keeping their son from Homme.

Homme’s statement continues, “Despite multiple orders by the Los Angeles Family Court to return the children, as well as being found in contempt of court, Dalle continued to violate the custody agreement. The situation was exacerbated by the inappropriate actions of her boyfriend Gunner Foxx.”

Gunner Foxx is a Los Angeles-based hatter who began dating Dalle a year after she filed for divorce from Homme.

Homme’s statement alleges that Dalle has been influenced by Foxx to keep him away from his children and that he had forged Dalle’s signature in a restraining order filed by Homme’s sons and his daughter in 2021.

Last January, Foxx alleged that Homme had threatened to throw him over a balcony on Christmas Eve.

A temporary solution until fall

“In August of 2022, Joshua Homme and his two sons were granted a restraining order protecting them from Gunner Foxx, preventing him from making any contact with them whatsoever for a period of five years. Foxx’s requests for a restraining order against Homme were denied by two separate courts.”

Since March 2022, the statement says that Homme has had sole legal custody of their children who are “currently under the care of their father and paternal grandparents.”

Dalle has supervised visitation rights with their youngest son until a custody hearing in the fall determines another solution for the family.
