NDAs, emails and a $33k demand: Inside the latest twist in the Jolie-Pitt legal war
Here’s the latest on the feud between the two famous Hollywood actors.

Even though Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt officially divorced in December 2024, their legal battles are anything but over, with the main point of dispute now centring around the French vineyard, Château Miraval.
In documents submitted October 6, Jolie disclosed in a statement that she and her six children “have never again set foot” on the estate after the breakup: “To this day, the children and I have never again set foot on the property, given its connection to the painful events leading to the divorce,” she wrote. “Post-separation, I immediately began to look for a new house for me and our children, initially renting a home while looking for a more stable solution. Because I wanted to ensure that Brad remained an important part of our children’s lives, I looked to buy a property near his home. At the time, my savings were tied up in Miraval, and I had not asked Brad for alimony or any other financial support.”
In Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), the fight scene between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie was originally written to be shorter and less physical.

“It was a focal point of our family life,” she added. “We were married there, I spent part of my pregnancy there and I brought our twin children home there from the hospital. To have such a sudden break from my home and memories has been hard, and it was especially difficult for the children to have their lives so disrupted.”
The dispute intensified after Jolie sold her share of Miraval in 2021 to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of Stoli Group. Pitt claims that the sale violated an agreement, which apparently required mutual consent. Jolie insists no such pact existed and explains that she sold only out of necessity.
But there’s more: Jolie alleges that Pitt conditioned any deal to buy her out on her signing a nondisclosure agreement which she refused. She frames his NDA demand as an attempt to silence her about alleged abuse dating back to 2016.

Pitt isn’t holding back either. He has requested access to Jolie’s private messages, including emails and internal communications, arguing they are key in the case regarding the Miraval transaction. For her part, Jolie is now seeking $33,000 from him to reimburse the legal fees she incurred responding to his motion.
