Pop star Taylor Swift revealed during Sunday’s Grammy Awards that she is to release her 11th studio album in just over two months’ time.

Swift made the announcement during her acceptance speech after winning the Best Pop Vocal Album award for her record Midnights.

“My brand new album comes out on April 19″

“This is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number - I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that,” the 34-year-old said. “I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out on April 19. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department.”

After leaving the stage at Crypto.com Arena, Swift posted the new album’s cover on her social-media accounts, with the message: “All’s fair in love and poetry...”

The post also included a photo of handwritten notes that contain what may be lyrics to a track on The Tortured Poets Department.

“And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms,” the apparent lyrics say. “The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink.”

‘Swifties’ can now pre-order the album on the singer-songwriter’s official website.

According to the listing on her website, the record will include 16 songs, with some versions also including the bonus track “The Manuscript”.

Swift’s Midnights a double winner at 2024 Grammys

At Sunday’s gala in Los Angeles, Swift also scooped the Album of the Year gong for Midnights, taking her career haul of Grammy awards to 14. She has become the first artist ever to win Album of the Year four times.

On a night dominated by female artists, the Grammys’ other major awards also went to women. Miley Cyrus won Record of the Year for her song “Flowers”; Billie Eilish, claimed Song of the Year for “What Was I Made For?”, which she co-wrote with brother Finneas; and Victoria Monét was named Best New Artist.

Phoebe Bridgers, a singer-songwriter who has collaborated with Swift, claimed the most awards at Crypto.com Arena, picking up four honours: Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song, Best Rock Performance and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
