Travis Kelce’s ‘fatherly’ advice to his friend before he met Taylor Swift: “Like when your dad calls you”
Kelce’s good pal Beau Allen has recalled meeting Swift - and the moment he was warned to be on his best behavior.

Beau Allen, a former NFL player who is a good friend of Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce, has revealed that the three-time Super Bowl winner gave him a stern pep talk before Allen met Taylor Swift for the first time.
“Don’t make me regret this” was Kelce’s message to Allen, who was warned to be on his best behavior when he was introduced to the tight end’s pop icon girlfriend at a Kansas City game.
“Like when your dad calls you”
Speaking on the NFL show Green Light with Chris Long last week, Allen said: “‘Kels’ called me up, and the tone was like… when your dad calls you when you get in trouble for something and he doesn’t know how to get into it, you know what I mean?
“He’s like, ‘You’re coming to this game. Don’t make me regret this.’”
Looking back on the moment he met Swift, Allen recalled: “She’s cool, man. She led with a compliment. She said I was funny and that she respected my commitment to, like, making a joke or getting a laugh or something like that.”
The 33-year-old, who retired from the NFL in 2022, added: “I was just like, ‘Oh, wow, I really wasn’t expecting a compliment out of you. Like, thank you, I’m a happy man right now.”
Swift at Arrowhead as Chiefs' history bid continues
Swift, who is reported to be giving Kelce the midweek space he needs to focus on the Chiefs’ bid for an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl triumph, has been a regular at Kansas City games since the pair began dating in 2023.
The 14-time Grammy winner was at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday as Kelce and the Chiefs beat the Buffalo Bills 32-29 - a victory that secured the AFC Championship and booked the team’s spot in next month’s Super Bowl.
Kansas City will face the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX, which is to take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday February 9.
