Viral Willem Dafoe on the streets of New York: “I don’t give advice. Everyone has to find their own way”
The 69-year-old actor was stopped in New York City by a famous TikToker and offered some wise words of wisdom.
Tik Tok content creator @Hikhann has become a minor celebrity on the platform with his short videos that begin with the ‘what do you do for a living’ intro.
Whilst many people walk on by and ignore the question, one gentleman in downtown New York was happy to stop briefly and converse with Khan.
It remains to be seen if the Tik Tok creator was aware that he was talking to celebrated Hollywood actor Willem Dafoe.
What most caught the attention of Dafoe’s fans and the more than 13 million views the video has generated is Dafoe’s philosophy on life and his career. When asked for advice for young aspiring actors, the 69-year-old replied honestly: “I don’t give advice. Everyone has to find their own way. Just enjoy it".
A statement that has been interpreted by many as a lesson in authenticity in an industry where competition is intense and external pressures can be sometimes overwhelming.
