The 97th Academy Awards, commonly known as the Oscars, are set to get underway soon, with the great and the good of TV and Film to go head to head for the prestigious awards.
Talk show host Conan O’Brien is set to host the event, marking his first time in this role. The comedic actor will be sure to give a funny flair to the show, and that’s just his hair.

What time does the Oscars start?
This year, they are scheduled for Sunday, March 2, 2025. The ceremony will commence at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). This translates to 6:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST), 5:00 p.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST), and 4:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST).
Notably, Daylight Saving Time in the United States begins on March 9, 2025, a week after the Oscars, so the time change does not affect the event’s schedule.
The official red carpet pre-show, hosted by Julianne Hough and Jesse Palmer, will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET (3:30 p.m. PST, 4:30 p.m. MST, 5:30 p.m. CST.).
As for the event itself, Emilia Pérez tops the list of nominees with 13 nominations, including Best Picture. Following closely are Wicked and The Brutalist, each earning 10 nominations and also competing for the year’s top film award.

The prestigious ceremony will be held at the iconic Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Viewers can watch the event live on ABC, with channel details available through local TV providers. For those who prefer to stream, Hulu will offer a live stream of the ceremony, allowing subscribers to watch in real-time and access a replay the following day. Additionally, the ABC app and website will provide live streaming options for viewers with a cable login.
