What we know about Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson’s new series ‘Brother from Another Mother’

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are working on a brand new project after a long history of friendship and movie-making.

‘Brother From Another Mother’ is a comedy television series that will be available for streaming on AppleTV+, which stars McConaughey and Harrelson as versions of themselves.

McConaughey was recently on the Kelly Ripa podcast, SiriusXM’s ‘Let’s Talk off Camera’, and talked about his new series, and also revealed personal family information about his relation to Harrelson.

While talking about their upcoming series, McConaughey explained that ‘Brother from Another Mother’ is “a series about our families that’s based on truth.”

“And this is a story about — it’s a love story, about us, he and I and our families coming together and the conflicts and comedy that come with it,” said McConaughey.

Though they may be related, that doesn’t mean they agree on everything.

“Where Woody and I are the best of friends, we have different approaches in how we raise our children and how we go about certain things,” he added.

While he was there, he revealed that it is possible he and Harrelson are half brothers — and they are on the brink of getting a DNA test to find out once and for all.

Ripa asked if they have ever had a DNA test to find out if they are related.

This is what we’re on the precipice of now,” McConaughey responded.

What is the plot of ‘Brother From Another Mother’?

For unknown reasons, Harrelson’s character and his family moves in with McConaughey’s character at his ranch in Texas. This is already fitting, as McConaughey is known for his Texas drawl and laid-back attitude.

McConaughey and Harrelson have worked together in the past, including the 1999 satire film ‘EdTV’, which was their first project, the comedy surfer movie ‘Surfer, Dude’ in 2008, and crime series ‘True Detective’ in 2014.

Is it a biographical story?

McConaughey has often referred to Harrelson as his brother from another mother.

In one Instagram post, the ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ actor posted a photo of the two pals and possible brothers in the ocean with their arms around each other and big smiles on their faces.
