Jonah Hill rose to fame in the mid-2000s for his comedic roles in movies such as Superbad, Knocked Up and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Two Best Supporting Actor Academy Award nominations later, for his performances in Moneyball, alongside Brad Pitt, and The Wolf of Wall Street, with Leonardo di Caprio - as well as his writing, directing and producing - and the boy from LA was a serious big deal.

In 2021, rumours began of a relationship blossoming between Hill and California-born Sarah Brady, one that appeared to casual onlookers to have ridden on the crest of a romantic wave only to come crashing down the following year. And this weekend Brady has spoken publicly about what she calls the ”emotionally abusive” element of the actor in that time, something she is warning others about.

What has Sarah Brady said about Jonah Hill?

Brady took to Instagram Stories to share screenshots of alleged text message exchanges between herself and Hill, shedding light on their dynamic. In the messages, Hill supposedly asks Brady to remove certain surfing photos from her Instagram that feature her in a thong, prompting her to delete all related posts.

The shared messages show Hill getting frustrated that Brady doesn’t understand his point and that she refuses to let go of “certain boundaries”. Brady used her public platform to warn others about such behavior and offer support to those who may be experiencing similar situations.

“I too struggle with mental health but I do not use it to control like he did to me,” Brady followed up with. “It’s been a year of healing and growth with the help of loved ones and doctors to get back to living my life without guilt, shame and self-judgment for things as small as surfing in a swimsuit rather than a more conservative wetsuit.

“And I’m sure there’s still much more healing from this abuse ahead of me.”

Below you can see one of those pictures she removed upon Hill’s request and then reposted.

“❤️‍🩹 reviving a pic I took down by request of a narcissistic misogynist,” she wrote, with a purposeful mended heart emoticon.

What do we know about Sarah Brady?

Along with an outpouring of support for Brady, there has been a renewed interest in who she is, the part unrelated to the Hill relationship. She comes from the sunny shores of Encinitas, California, and is an accomplished surfer, as you can see below, with a keen interest in photography and being an activist for what she believes in.

From 2015 to 2019, Brady attended the University of California in Santa Cruz, where she did a degree in cognitive science and sustainability. Successful anthropology studies, with a focus on climate change and human solutions, at UC San Diego came next, completed in 2021.

It was around this time when the Hill rumours started, with the actor denying any engagement talk at one point, but the following year it was over. A period of introspection for both followed, much of that kept very private, until now.

Hill turned his attentions to Olivia Millar, the daughter of Esmé Marshall, a model from the 1980s, and the couple welcomed a child in May of this year.

Brady’s reflection and exposure

Only around a year after parting ways with Hill, Brady has decided to share her story and part of her revelations have focused on his new relationship and child.

“I hope my ex has a daughter,” Brady wrote after hearing the news that they were Hill and Millar were expecting. “Maybe she’ll turn him into a real feminist because the fact that he calls himself a feminist now is laughable.”
