Oscars night 2023 is nearly upon us. On Sunday, 12 March the great and the good of the film industry will descend on the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for an evening celebrating the finest cinematic achievements of the past year.

This year’s ceremony will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, the talk show host who is making his third appearance on the Oscars stage. He will be joined by countless big-name presenters to announce the winners of each category, as well as a number of performers who will be entertaining those in attendance.

Rihanna

Fresh from her show-stopping performance in the Super Bowl halftime show, the songstress will be attending the Oscars ceremony as both performer and potential award-winner. Rihanna is nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song for ‘Lift Me Up’ from the movie ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ which she will perform on Sunday evening.

Sofia Carson and Diane Warren

Another of the Best Song nominees to be performed live at the ceremony will be ‘Applause’ from the movies ‘Tell It Like A Woman’. Actress and singer Sofia Carson will be joined by Oscars veteran Diane Warren, who has now been nominated 14 times for Best Song. She will be hoping that 2023 will mark her first victory at the Oscars.

David Byrne, Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux

Legendary singer, songwriter and music producer David Byrne has an extensive catalogue of awards, having already picked up an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, a Tony Award, and a Golden Globe Award. Alongside Stephanie Hsu and Son Lux, Byrne helped create ‘This Is a Life’ from the hotly-tipped film ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once,’ which is nominated in nine different categories.

Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava

From established stars to hotly-tipped new-comers, Sipligunj and Bhairava complete the line-up of Oscars performers. They will appear on stage to perform ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the film ‘RRR’. The Indian duo are many experts’ favourites to pick up the award for Best Song and they will treat Sunday’s audience to a live rendition of the viral hit song.

Lady Gaga

A surprise addition, Lady Gaga performed ‘Hold my hand’ from Top Gun: Maverick.
