Angela Lansbury dies, Mrs. Potts and Beauty and the Beast: reactions
Her singing voice on Beauty and the Beast will always be remembered, as will a career of versatility on the big and small screen.

You’ll be remembered for years. Your face, your voice, your wide variety of roles. Angela Lansbury passed away on Tuesday at the age of 96, her family announced.
Angela Lansbury: the voice of an angel
Her role as the sweet detective with that clickety typewriter in a small town America warmed her to many a heart in Murder, She Wrote. Then there was the singing teapot in Beauty and the Beast that captured as many older ears as it did younger eyes. And what about the spy in the Soviet Union and the a killer bakery hand.
So many wonderful roles over a career that has lasted longer than most of us have been around.

The statement from her family read:
“The children of Dame Angela Lansbury are sad to announce that their mother died peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles at 1:30 AM today, Tuesday, October 11, 2022, just five days shy of her 97th birthday.”
RIP Angela.

She's just so funny as an extremely self-serious witch in Bedknobs and Broomsticks. A totally underrated and awesome family movie.
Always loved this song opposite David Tomlinson.https://t.co/DDu0Tvvehb
It will come as surprise to no one that, aged 7, my key motivation to ride a bike was to be like Angela Lansbury in the title sequence to ‘Murder She Wrote’. https://t.co/PvUaYArIIe

Angela Lansbury was 58 when Murder, She Wrote debuted in 1984, making the success of the series a monumental victory for older actresses looking for substantial roles. The next year, The Golden Girls debuted. pic.twitter.com/s0I9uWAK03
