On Tuesday, Dec. 31, millions of people will gather to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one through one of the most popular countdown celebrations in the world- the iconic Times Square ball drop in New York.

The traditional celebration is highlighted by a countdown to welcome the New Year as the ball rolls down the flagpole to the finish line at 12 a.m. ET on Jan. 1. While the countdown begins at midnight, the festivities kick off at 6 p.m. ET with a New Year’s Eve event.

This year’s lineup features artists such as Mark Ambor, Mickey Guyton, Rita Ora, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, Megan Moroney, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, TLC, Greeicy, De La Ghetto and Kapo.
