The United States is celebrating Veterans Day on Saturday, November 11, to honor all the men and women who have served in the various branches of the US military, whether it be in times of peace or in times of war.

As the day falls on a Saturday, the federal holiday will instead be moved to the previous day, which is Friday, November 10.

Veterans Day is celebrated to express gratitude to all military veterans for their service and sacrifice in the United States Armed Forces, with many of them risking their lives.

Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day focuses on living soldiers who went to war, while the other celebration pays tribute to all those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle.
