After a car remained in the FBI office in Atlanta, an investigation was launched to identify if the incident was a planned attack or coincidental. The incident occurred at noon at the FBI facility just outside of Atlanta in Chamblee, Georgia.

In a statement released by the office, the law enforcement agency said that “a person rammed into the [...] front gate shortly after noon.” Agents in the area apprehended the man, and no injuries have been reported. As is customary in these situations, an “agent and bomb techs checked the car as a precaution,” but no additional information on the investigation was made public.

What’s next

Before crashing into the gate, the suspect had attempted to follow an authorized vehicle into the facility. When unable to sneak in that way, the dramatic measure to enter the facility by ramming his car through was taken.

The investigation will continue, and it will be released if the information is essential to the public. So far, the suspect has been detained, but any motivation remains unknown. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect has no connection to the facility, but their identity has not yet been made public.
