Donald Trump, McDonald’s “all-time most loyal customer,” thinks this menu item needs a little more sauce
The President of the United States is not happy with how one particular product is served.

Trump is now, quite literally, spending more time talking about McDonald’s food than bringing the prices down for ordinary Americans.
At the McDonald’s Impact Summit in Washington, D.C., former President Donald Trump didn’t just talk policy, he also offered culinary feedback. While addressing a room full of franchise owners and executives, he derided himself as “one of your all-time most loyal customers” and, under the veil of humour, made a pointed request: add more tartar sauce to his beloved Filet-O-Fish.
“I like the fish. I like it. You could do a little bit more tartar sauce, so please. Seriously,” Trump said, emphasising that he dislikes having to ask for extra at the counter. This request for more sauce on his burger comes just days after millions of Americans lost their food stamps thanks to MAGA’s plan for the country. While McDonald’s is hardly the food of the elite class, Trump’s inane comments are yet another reminder than we are not on his list of priorities.
Trump’s toast to McDonald’s feels very hollow against the backdrop of serious economic issues. He praised McDonald’s for reintroducing Extra Value Meals at $5 and $8 price points, spinning this as proof that his administration is “making tremendous progress” on affordability, but this spinning of the story is only present to gloss over a much more painful reality for many Americans.
Prices have not lowered, food insecurity is worsening, and inflation still squeezes families’ budgets to the max as he eats Big Macs.
The 47th President’s fast-food allegiance is hardly new. In his son-in-law Jared Kushner’s memoir, Breaking History, he’s described as regularly ordering a Big Mac, a Filet-O-Fish, fries and a shake. A similar order of two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted shake is mentioned in Let Trump Be Trump, by insiders from his 2016 campaign.

JFK’s last words
Trump’s McDonald’s moment is less about genuine concern for affordability and more about optics: he praises a chain he loves, makes a silly request for more sauce, and peddles the image of himself as a champion for the working class, all while sidestepping the the fact that fast food is increasingly out of reach.
