Donald Trump’s celebrity supporters: Who are the famous names behind the Republican candidate?
Increasingly, presidential candidates have relied on the endorsements of celebrities. Here are some of the celebs who have endorsed Donald Trump.
Donald Trump was a celebrity business owner before he was elected president. Though the focus on celebrity endorsements began before his entry into the political sphere, it has grown in importance. On the campaign trail, the former president talks about celebrities who have endorsed his candidacy, hoping that hearing those names will attract more voters.
As November approaches, the GOP has been forming closer ties with leaders in Silicon Valley and the digital currency scene. On Monday, Donald Trump will sit for an interview with X owner Elon Musk as he courts more endorsements. Already, within the tech space, the Trump campaign has received the endorsement of Chamath Palihapitiya, who made major investments into Yammer and Slack, as well as David Sacks. On the crypto and digital currency side, Trump has been endorsed by ARC Innovations CEO Cathie Wood and LBRY founder Jeremy Kauffman.
For many in Hollywood or New York City, endorsing Trump, even if they support him, can be damaging as producers may look to keep them out of their projects over fears of receiving backlash from more liberal viewers. For that reason, Kamala Harris’ campaign, which is just getting off the ground, has already received the endorsement of dozens of the most popular singers, actors, and public figures in American life. And while Democrats tend to have an easier time attracting celebrity endorsements, here is a look at the most prominent names from the sports and entertainment world supporting Donald Trump as he attempts to regain control of the White House.
