Free Whopper and discounts on Burger King for Walmart+ users: How and when to get it

Walmart has entered into a partnership with Burger King in its bid to become more competitive against online retail giant Amazon.

The collaboration provides more perks to members of Walmart+, the retailer’s subscription program created to go head-to-head with Amazon Prime. Just like Prime, Walmart+ offers free shipping and same-day grocery delivery.

Walmart+ is cheaper at $98 per year, compared to Amazon Prime’s $139 annual price tag.

Aside from the lower price, Walmart is adding more benefits, such as those resulting from the tie up with Burger King, to attract subscribers and chip away at Amazon’s dominance.

For the hamburger chain, having a relationship with the retailer is a way to lure diners who have been put off by the high cost of fast food.

Free Whopper and discounts on Burger King for Walmart+ users: How and when to get it

As a result of the partnership, Walmart+ members will receive a 25% discount on Burger King orders every day, and free Whoppers every three months with any purchase. The free flame-grilled Whopper will be given out starting in September, while the discount can be applied immediately.

“This unique benefit is designed to save members time and money, catering to their fast-paced lifestyles where grocery shopping, meal planning and cooking may not always be feasible,” according to a statement by Walmart.

Walmart+ members can access the deal through the Burger King app or online at bk.com. They simply need to link their Walmart membership to a free Burger King Royal Perks account.

Once the two accounts are linked, subscribers can click on the offers tab on the app or website to place their order and avail of the discount.
