Goodbye to Walmart logo: Here’s what the first change in nearly 20 years looks like
Walmart is updating its logo for the first time in almost 20 years. The touched up look features bolder colors the store hopes will keep the brand fresh.
Walmart has announced it is updating its brand identity by refreshing its logo, which has been around for almost 20 years. The retail giant says it is doing the rebrand to “better represent who Walmart is today.”
The redesign will not be too drastic, and the store’s customers will still find it easy to recognize the brand.
The changes include a new font for the word “Walmart”, and a bolder blue and yellow color palette.

Walmart wants to be seen as ‘modern’ and ‘culturally dynamic’
“This update, rooted in the legacy of our founder, Sam Walton, demonstrates our evolving capabilities and longstanding commitment to serve our customers of today and tomorrow,” said Walmart U.S senior vice president and Chief Marketing Officer William White.
According to a statement issued by the retailer, they hope the new look will help the store build credibility and connection, become known for its convenient digital-first services and be seen as a more modern, culturally dynamic brand.
The store will continue rolling out the freshened up look this month across its website, app, and more than 10,500 physical locations all over the world.
The company began using the new look in Oct. 2024 with Store 4108 in Springdale, Arkansas, and will continue to redesign its stores over time.
The update will officially be launched on Walmart.com and the Walmart app this month.
