Heat wave ending? These regions will enjoy highs in the 60s and mid-70s in the coming days
A mass of cooler, drier air from Canada will begin sweeping across large swaths of the US this weekend bringing autumn-like conditions for millions.

It’s going to feel like autumn across large swaths of the United States as a mass of cooler, drier air from central Canada sweeps in beginning this weekend. The refreshing sensation will be felt across the Midwest, Plains and even into parts of the South before moving into the Northeast.
Temperatures are set to be 10 to 15 degrees below normal for this time of year. The good news is that the cooler temperatures could last for several days due to the southward push of the jet stream, providing relief for around 100 million Americans who’ve suffered through hot and humid conditions.
When and where to expect cooler air
The relief will be felt over large swaths from the Canadian border into the Central Plains and over to Lake Michigan. The cooler air will continue to push south over Kansas and east moving into the Ohio River Valley on Sunday.
By the start of the week Oklahoma City, Little Rock, Nashville and Pittsburgh will be feeling the refreshing conditions. Most of the rest of the Northeast will see thermometers drop by Tuesday experiencing temperatures 10 to 15 degrees below normal like the Midwest.
A #cold front will deliver the first true taste of fall. Widespread cool, dry air drops temps 5–15° below normal into Labor Day Weekend. By late next week, parts of the Great Lakes, New England, and Mid-Atlantic may wake to their first 40° lows in months.#Weather #Fall #Cooler pic.twitter.com/h2QuXneV5h

The Great Lakes and Northeast could see these conditions continue for a week or more as another cold front is predicted to come down with a brief warmup prior to its arrival according to AccuWeather.
