Honda car owner? The company is recalling more than 700,000 vehicles in October. Check yours
Honda has issued another recall affecting over 700,000 vehicles after having issued one that covered 1.6 million cars earlier this month.
After recalling 1.6 million cars earlier this month, Honda has issued another round of recalls affecting over 700,000 vehicles. These recalls follow one issued in December 2023 that covered more than 2.4 million cars. Like the more recent recall, the source of the issue was the fuel pump.
Which models are affected?
The more recent recall was issued on October 14 and affects “certain 2023-2024 Honda Accord, Accord Hybrid, 2023-2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid, and 2025 Honda Civic and Civic Hybrid vehicles.” In some of these vehicles, the Department of Transportation warns that “the high-pressure fuel pump may crack and leak fuel.
Honda will formally notify owners in early December
Owners will be notified by letter in early December, with the company reporting that the alerts will be mailed on December 4, 2024. In the meantime, owners can contact Honda directly at 1-888-234-2138, using the recall number PJW for a representative to provide additional information.
Honda recalls more than 2 million cars in October
This is the second recall affecting Honda this month, and it pushes the total of vehicles recalled to over 2.3 million.
The 1.6 million cars recalled on October 3 could have issues with their steering and steering gear box. The recall covers both Honda and Acura models:
The Department of Transportation warns owners of these vehicles that a manufacturing error “can cause excessive internal friction and lead to difficulty steering the vehicle.”
“Dealers will replace the worm gear spring and redistribute or add grease as necessary, free of charge,” reports the transit agency. The letters for this recall will be sent on November 18, 2024, but like the aforementioned recall owners can call Honda and use the following recall numbers to learn more: SJS, MJU, QJT and VJV.
