On Saturday, the US Army is celebrating its 250th anniversary complete with multiple events including a military parade. Here’s how to attend and watch.

The US Army is celebrating the 250th anniversary of its founding on 14 June 1775 with a number of events including a military parade, concert and fireworks this Saturday. Members of the armed services and the public are invited to attend but are asked to register at the America 250 event registration portal.
Those who cannot attend the events in Washington DC in person can watch the celebration in DC via live streaming. They are also encouraged to participate in events taking place in their own communities to mark this major milestone. The US Army has provided a website with a full list of events and how they can get involved.
US Army social media will be live streaming the “Grand Military Parade and Celebration” as well as C-SPAN and other channels.
When and where is the 14 June military parade?
The “Grand Military Parade and Celebration” will get underway at 6:30 pm EDT beginning its route at the Pentagon’s north parking lot in Arlington, Virginia. It will proceed across the Arlington Memorial Bridge and continue along Constitution Avenue NW from 23rd Street to 15th Street where it will conclude.
Following the parade there will be a concert and culminate with a fireworks display. The America 250 says that the event will wrap up at 9:30 pm EDT.
Guests can start taking up positions along the parade route beginning at 2:00 pm EDT. However, throughout the day prior to the parade there will be a series of military demonstrations, static equipment the public can explore and live music on the National Mall.
Attendees and DC residents should be aware that there will be a number of street closures and disruptions to public transport beginning Friday 13 June at midnight with some carrying through until Monday morning.

What will the military parade in Washington DC involve?
US Army spokeswoman Lt. Col. Ruth Castro confirmed that the parade will feature 6,600 soldiers, along with 150 vehicles and 50 military aircraft. The parade will tell the history of the US Army from its conception as the Continental Army in 1775 to the modern day.
The display of military hardware will include vintage warplanes and modern Army helicopters as well as Abrams tanks, Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles and self-propelled howitzer cannons among other vehicles. It will also include 34 horses, two mules, one dog.
