Mexican influencer Valeria Márquez dies: shot during a live TikTok stream
The 23-year-old woman was at her workplace when a man burst in and shot her without saying a word.

Social media is mourning the tragic death of Valeria Márquez, the 23-year-old influencer who was shot and killed at her home in Jalisco, Mexico. The content creator was livestreaming on TikTok, the platform where she had over 100,000 followers. A man entered the premises and shot her with barely a word, killing her instantly.
The young Mexican woman was calmly interacting with her fans when, suddenly, a man walked into her beauty salon and asked, “Are you Valeria?” When the TikToker responded, the man opened fire, unaware that the horrific scene was being watched live by thousands of viewers.
The police investigation
Jalisco police are currently “investigating the crime as a possible femicide,” though they have not ruled out other lines of inquiry. Authorities report that the suspect—posing as a delivery man—fled the scene on a motorcycle after confirming that the influencer was dead.
Meanwhile, Valeria’s Instagram account continues to receive messages of grief and support from followers devastated by the tragedy. “A girl so full of light, and they took her…,” “Such a beautiful energy,” and “My Vale, beautiful, I’m going to miss you,” read some of the comments.
