Neither Poppi nor Olipop: This is The Coca-Cola Company’s new “fruit forward” bubbly prebiotic soda
Coca-Cola launches Simply Pop, a prebiotic soda to compete with industry leaders like Poppi or Olipop.

To compete in the growing prebiotic soda market, The Coca-Cola Company has announced plans to launch its own “fruit-forward” bubbly beverage. The prebiotic soda industry has expanded rapidly over the past seven years, and now the beverage giant is looking to claim a share of the profits.
Currently, Poppi and Olipop dominate the market. Earlier this month, Forbes reported that PepsiCo had acquired Poppi for $1.95 billion. The prebiotic soda, which gained recognition after appearing on Shark Tank, will soon be part of PepsiCo’s brand portfolio.
Meanwhile, CNBC reported that in 2024, Olipop—Poppi’s top competitor—surpassed $400 million in sales and reached a valuation of $1.85 billion.

Coca-Cola introduces Simply Pop
Coca-Cola has now entered the space with its own prebiotic soda line, Simply Pop. Company leaders cited market research indicating that consumers, especially younger generations, are “really interested in juice and prebiotic sodas,” said the CEO of Nutrition, Becca Kerr. Coca-Cola hopes to leverage its brand recognition to attract consumers who have yet to try a prebiotic soda but might be willing to try one from a familiar name.
Though not sugar-free, Simply Pop contains no added sugar and is made with 25–30% real fruit juice from concentrate, depending on the flavor. The initial lineup will feature five flavors: Strawberry, Pineapple Mango, Fruit Punch, Lime, and Citrus Punch.
